The fifth generation (5G) spectrum auction (5G spectrum auction) is going on in the country. Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea (VI) and Adani Enterprises are participating in this auction. Bids worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore have come, the very first day of the auction.
Companies of Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Bharti Mittal and Gautam Adani bid for the biggest ever auction of radio waves. The target is to allot 5G spectrum by August 14. At the same time, 5G services are expected to start in many cities by the end of the year.

As per the prescribed procedure, it will not be known during the auction which company has acquired how much spectrum. Bids have also been received in the 700 MHz band on the first day of 5G spectrum auction.
Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information. He said the government got bids worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore on the first day of bidding. This is more than expected and has crossed the 2015 record.

Four rounds of auction have been held on the first day of 5G spectrum auction. The interest of companies in the middle and upper bands remained high. The companies placed strong bids in the 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. According to the Telecom Minister, the participation of the four companies involved in the bidding has been "strong".
