Reliance Jio announced its broadband service, called Jio GigaFiber. The much-awaited service is expected to disrupt the Indian broadband market with its low-pricing. The new Fiber-to-the-home service will be rolled out in 1,100 cities in the country and the registration process for the same will begin on August 15.

1. GigaFiber service will start from Diwali. It is expected that initially the service will be introduced in metro cities followed by 80 tier-1 and tier-2 cities.
Reliance Jio has been running beta trials of GigaFiber broadband service since past few months.
2. Beginning August 15, interested users can register for GigaFiber via the company's MyJio app or Jio.com website.
It is believed that Reliance Jio will charge 50% less than what other operators are charging right now. Presently, most other service providers charge from Rs 700 to Rs 1,000 per month. While, Reliance Jio GigaFiber’s tariff plans are set to start at Rs 500 per month.
3. Reliance Jio has announced that depends on the number of registration from the different cities, it is decided how soon your city/locality gets Jio GigaFiber. depends on the number of registrations for the service that Reliance Jio gets.
4. GigaFiber broadband will have its own router called Jio GigaRouter.
5. Jio GigaTV comes with a smart remote that supports voice commands. Once plugged to the TV, the set-top-box will allow users to make video calls. There's once a camera accessory is added.
6. GigaTV will support voice commands. This means that users will have the option to give oral commands.
7. Jio GigaFiber customers will also have option to go for a TV set-top-box, called Jio GigaTV. Just like JioPhone, the set-top box too will support voice commands.
8. Reliance Jio will not charge customers for installation of the GigaFiber fibre.
Though installation of Jio GigaFiber is free, reports claims that company will charge a fixed security deposit from customers.
