India's second largest telecom provider Vodafone has launched it's 3G services in India. Vodafone new 3G services will work in Prepaid & Postpaid both the services.
In order to use 3G services there is a need of handset which is compatible with the Vodafone 3G network, in case your handset is already 3G compatible then you don’t need to purchase a new phone.
Different 3G handsets have different speed capabilities, we recommend that you use an HSPA enabled handset for the best experience.
Features of Vodafone 3G Services
1. Vodafone 3G services will work in Prepaid & Postpaid both the services.
2.Existing Vodafone user's SIM card will work absolutely fine till the time you have a 3G compatible phone connected to the Vodafone 3G network.
3. Tethering is allowed on Vodafone 3G services (Connecting a handset to a laptop or a PC). This is definitely possible on the Vodafone 3G network, but you need to activate this tethering service. This also depends if you have the required plan.
4. User can make a video call through Vodafone 3G network.
5. Video call does not use data channels on Vodafone 3G network but accesses voice channels therefore in real sense subscriber will not be consuming any data usage but get billed according to the number of minutes spoken multiplied by the rate per minute.
6. When a user moves from 3G to 2G network then all the service supported on Vodafone 3G network like, video call, high speed internet access, etc will not be available.
Disadvantage of Vodafone 3G services
1. The vodafone 3G is little costly.
2. For Mi-Fi subscriber need to pay Rs5500 extra only for Mi-Fi device
3. Rs 1300 extra charges other than Mi-Fi device for 5GB.
