According to reports, Google is developing a new tablet which may rub shoulders with Apple's iPad.
Chief Executive of Google, Eric Schmidt is all praise for the upcoming tablet saying that the device would be a reader tablet which would also perform computing functions.
The Google tablet could use its own Android operating system and Marketplace service. It may also use the Google Book service to deliver eBook titles to the device.
According to analysts, the Google tablet would be in direct competition with the likes of Apple’s iPad. Both the companies are already in head to head with iPhone and Nexus One phones.
This isn't the first time Google has taken aim to rival Apple's gadgets. The company unveiled it's Nexus One (a.k.a. the Google Phone) last year. To develop the tablet, Google is reportedly teaming with HTC, the same company it worked with to create its phone.
