TATA DOCOMO is Tata Teleservices Limited's (TTSL) telecom service on the GSM platform-arising out of the Tata Group's strategic alliance with Japanese telecom major NTT DOCOMO in November 2008. Tata Teleservices has received a pan-India license to operate GSM telecom services, under the brand TATA DOCOMO and has also been allotted spectrum in 18 telecom Circles. TTSL and has already rolled out its services in various circles.
TATA DOCOMO is a well recognized service provider of Tata Teleservices has collaborated with Research In Motion (RIM) for the launching of BlackBerry handsets.
TATA DOCOMO has planned to offer the two handsets- BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphones in India market.
According to Deepak Gulati( President-Tata Dococmo) "We are launching two powerful BlackBerry smartphones for our customers. Indian telecom users will also have the option to connect any authorised BlackBerry smartphone available in the market and subscribe to a Tata Dococmo data plan,"
TATA DOCOMO would be offering two plans for the BlackBerry data service-'Do 299' and 'Do 899'.
Both the packages are launched and can be chosen by the user as per their need -Do 299' pack offers unlimited data usage for e-mail and instant messaging users while the other package 'Do 899' includes unlimited Internet usage for the Indian users.
